anatomy of an episode

Crazy busy holidays. Tomorrow is the first shoot of my diy show ! Panic mode ! The theme is holiday table settings and thanks to my saviour pinterest and decorating diva martha stewart I have found the perfect way to execute my ideas. Tomorrow I will be doing three things:candlesticks from banisters, tiles as coasters & corking mosaic tiles to serve as table runners.
Wish me luck !

Tis the Season !!!

Oh Boy ! I've been too busy and Christmas just slowly crept up on me ! I have yet to decorate my christmas tree for this year. Inspired by Pinterest again I found my christmas colors for the year.

Now to choose the theme that goes with it.  After some research I have decided to use either vintage victorian or old hollywood. Come back and see how it looks like later.
Gotta do some diy stuff to make it work. Ciao !

blog love !

Hi guys ! As a young kid of four, I would always wake up to my three big sisters putting make up in the bathroom. They would line there, three in a row with their individual half length mirrors and start drawing on their faces. I would always look in awe and then when they would leave, put on their make up. Then my mommy would go looking for me. I would be hiding coz my face had blue eyeshadow and red lips. Hence my love for makeup grew from that. Up until high school in our annual school concerts, most of my classmates would ask me to put on their make up.
I found a new site/blog that I am enjoying. It's a make up site with tutorials. I like the way she is really specific about teaching her techniques and how she is inspired by make up of stars like J Lo, or Katy Perry and how she demonstrates it in her tutorials. Tip: If you want to learn how to do it, play her video and follow it step by step. Enjoy !

1920's dress up- Oh what fun !

source:pinterest
Friday morning on Nov. 25.I get a phone call from Bong Deparine my Amazing Cebu producer: Nics we are going to the Radisson Blu Anniversary tonight. 1920's is the theme. Ok panic mode! The nerd in me thinks:ok, research woman ! research ! 1920's look- wavy hair ,bobs with bangs, exaggerated hair accessories, loose dresses, maryjanes with mid heels.(I don't have those!) Improvise ! Pinterest my savior ! I found a pic before of Lauren Conrad and diy wavy hair circa 1920's. Ok here goes diy mode! Spritzed my nape hair area with hairspray then braided it into two. one left and the other right side. then zigzagged them and fastened them with hairpins. Next I spritzed on hair spray to the other half of my hair in small sections one by one and curled them around my
free kerastase birthday gift: a straightening/curling iron. Waited for the smoked that sounded like it was frying bacon(oops! it's my hair !) Don't get alarmed by the sizzling sound, I read in a blog somewhere, It's the hairspray that is burning off its residue. After curling it, release the hair downwards in a spiral. Then pin curl it with bobby pins. Chose a side part for the front of your face then continue to use curling iron and pin tuck each into little rounds shapes. Secure with hairpins.Spritz on some more of your hair spray then blow dry it. Leave it in for a few hours. The longer hours the better. I finished at 11 am. And took it out at 5 pm. Take out all the pins and braids. Comb hair with a large flat brush. Since my hair was long to start with I needed to pin the length inwards in a circular fashion. Then fasten the hair pin under the curls so as not to be seen. So far, so good.  Roll it loosely and overlapping each other to create the illusion of wavy 1920's hair.  Ta-dah! Now for the make up:
smokey eyes and red pouty lips. Ok I can do that. Foraged in my closet. Loose dresses are not my thing! Thank God I finally found one: circa 2009 black fringed sheath dress from SM Miss Couture line.  I must confess: in a moment of panic I used my pearl belts as necklaces. Add a touch of red to make it more 2011. A bag and shoes.
How do I look?
